
I'd suggest lifting your inside elbow and trying to put it in your back pocket.That will let you turn your body more and look back towards the camera instead of looking down at the ground so you can push the coffee cup arm through.

Some video of your surfing would help, but here's some ideas.
The Oreo technique is tricky, you need to be able to spot where the wave is starting to draw up and recognise that the wave is going to peel with a good shoulder, rather than just closing out.
This needs a lot of practice (trust me, I know!)
Possibly trying a longer board with more volume might help, is there anywhere local to rent them?
Alternatively, chat with people in the line up and see what they are riding, so maybe you could swap with them for a few waves?
