John Kuras Sounds like a good idea.
A couple of things to think about:
1) in pretty much all of the videos I've seen showing how to drop in, they go front hand, front foot, so you may need to explain the Coffee Cup arm leading to the instructor.
2) The front truck of a surf skate is generally looser than that of a skateboard, so you might want to tighten it up to start with.
