I went down to the FireWire Seaside. 5’9” after surfing a long board and a 6’6” foamie. It’s a really fast board and good in mushy conditions. My home break is also powerless and still use that board here sometimes. Specially when the waves are not higher than knee size.

But it depends on how you want to surf. I want to do lip turns and cutbacks. But if you want to Surf stylish and more carving turns may a midlength is more your style.

Only have surfed 5 years so I am not the most reliable person to follow. But have tried a lot of boards. And for me FireWire and DHD are the nicest. Midlength Channel island. Was a nice one too. Just try some and you willl find a board you like.

Good question. I only notice with uploading you can choose between OMBE.insider or community. So wonder where is the best place to upload our video too.

Sounds great. Where to upload the footage? In community or insiders. Saw a lot of feedback in the insiders. Thanks.

Thank you all for the reply. So yeah will jump on the surf skate again. Unfortunately the bowl near my house is broken down so only street practice is possible till I find an other one.

What is the best training to improve upper body movement?
Looking back at the video I notice that my upper body is not moving at all. Just standing on the board. Anything else I miss? Bending form the hips? Any advise is welcome.

Trying to focus on breathing and coffee cup.
I know it’s flat surfing. Waves were knee to thigh high. Surfing on a DHD Phoenix 5’8” 31.5L
Any advice is welcome.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah kissing the knees is a big of a hustle. Ankle Mobility is bit rough. Of course my hips are also stiff. So that is a bit of a fight to get front on. Will try to watch the videos again and see if I can with a lot of stretching.

This board is a 6’6” performance midlength.

Normally I ride a DHD utopia 5’10

You are right about the back hand. Also my back foot is pointing to the tail. Have been snowboarding for years in a duck stance, it’s hard for me to get rid of it.

I want to do a top turn, however, looking back to the video. I don’t stand up and go down first. I try to go straight in the bottom turn, while I am not at the bottom yet. My own conclusion is that I am too afraid the wave is closing down so I start rushing it. I am not calm at all. Saw more video and noticed it hold my breath in the pop up.

Thank you for the advice.

Got a GoPro to film myself and it was a shock. Thought I was better than this.
First issue I found, is too tense, not blowing out. Second back hand is not coming to the front.
Felt very good on the wave.
Any advice please.
