Yeah, same here. But I’d also love to hear from the shapers-perspective. I’ve shaped 3 boards so far and it’s already such a magical artform to me; but, the idea of tailoring an asym to a rider is just mindblowing 🤯

Hey Clayton Nienaber

Have you put anything out on asymmetrical boards? I imagine this platform may not be the best for a deep-dive discussion. Maybe better suited if I come on a trip. But I’d love to hear yours and others thoughts on them. Never tried one myself

She seems like it. I can only hope to still be getting out there at 68+! It’s inspiring. And nothing against her or Kelia Gellina; but, I use them as motivation - “alright so if they can do it at 12 and 69…then I can figure this out and make it happen” 😃

Definitely seeing that. Thanks so much! I can feel it throughout all of the backside reps, that my arms aren’t in good position and/or up high enough. It’s like I’m contorting and praying I make it all the way around and down without eating it

Michiel van Gerven is it possible to train a sharper top-turn on a surfskate bowl/ramp? I know it’s all about those 10,000 hrs…but man that’s where I love having a chairlift and slopes that don’t move haha

This time I worked a bit on backside top-turns. Man this still feels awkward as hell! And as Luke Hardacre says - if it feels awkward, it looks awkward. But, I’m still stoked to ve out there trying it 🤷🏼‍♂️I thought it was a full video where I ride all the way thru to the flats; but, you can see I don’t have that coffee cup going…I’m more starting to roll the windows down 😬

I think my question is…in the water, is a backside top-turn more like a kickturn on a vert ramp/ halfpipe? I feel like the line I’m drawing here is a long, sweeping arc. But in the water, wouldn’t it need to be more of a sharper up n’ down?
