A couple of suggestions:

1) Remember to keep your head up and looking at where you want to go as you walk up

Interesting, but rather overlong and over explained.

The simple version is to buy a Carver Triton with CX trucks (OMBE recommended type) that has a Wheelbase (measurement between the rearmost bolts of the front truck and foremost bolts of the rear truck) which is 1/2" or 1.25cm longer than the distance between the arches of your feet when you're in your surfing stance.

BTW, that guy also copied the "Coffee Cup Arm" term. When I commented that he should credit Clayton for the idea, he deleted my post!

From a personal POV, I hope it doesn't as I'll be busy running my market stall then... 😕

Libby Stano Surf skating in a wetsuit might be going a bit far (and be rather warm!)

A long sleeved sweatshirt and jeans would be enough as you wouldn't be going at high speeds.

Personally I use helmet, elbow and knee pads and wrist guards all the time and the shorts when I'm trying something different that's outside my current skill set.

Maria Molè Just FYI, in that url for the crash pants, you can edit out everything from the ? onwards to make it clearer 🙂

As Clay says: "Embrace the suck" 👍

Libby Stano Try not to kick as you take off.

If you can get the back arched, legs straight Superman position, you should be able to do the Oreo Biscuit technique without kicking.

Then, as your shoulders will be higher, you should be able to lift the elbow higher when you paddle like you're trying to reach over a barrel and push the fingers into the water at a 45 degree angle so you can draw the forearm along the line of the rail.

The one on the left is a proper surf skate, so if I were you I'd stick with that one.

Post some video of your current level and we may be able to offer some advice.

Nice use of the coffee c... [ahem] water bottle 🙂

As with my other post, push the front knee forward a bit more so you compress and kiss the knees, rather than bending from the waist.

Also don't rush the extension, just keep it smooth 👍

That's looking pretty good 👍

When you compress, try to "lunge" a bit more with your front knee to keep your weight forward.

Also remember that the compress/ extend starts from.the knees, then the arms follow, at the moment you're lifting the arms first.

PS and don't wiggle!

🙂
