I'd suggest taking a look at the Neutral Stance and Bosu Ball drills.

Slow things down, relax and just concentrate on getting a good posture on the board. Once you've got that, everything else should be easier.

Maybe try taking a step back and practising on the flats.

Get a couple of cones or cans or just mark some X's on the ground and work on going around them, concentrating on lunging forward with the knees as you come in to the turn, then extending as you straighten up.

That should help give you the timing, then just extend as you go up the banking and compress as you go down.

It's difficult to tell just from a still photo, but thinking about what Clay has said about being able to see someone's intent, on the bottom turn, your arms are down like you are hunching over to protect yourself, rather than looking as if you're about to spring up to the lip.

Pointing your coffee cup to where you want to go would probably be helpful.

On the bottom turn, it looks like your back arm is hanging out behind you, instead of lifting the coffee cup to the lip.

On the top turn, I think your front arm is blocking your twist. Lifting the elbow and "putting it in your back pocket" would help you get your weight forward so you can look back at the foam.

I think you need to get more front on.

When you do the bottom turn, you're putting your weight on your back foot and your butt is pointing at the wave.

This means you lose speed on the way up, so the board drops flat at the top.

Look at this pic of John John Florence and see how he's lunging forward with his coffee cup hand like a surf board on the wave.

Get on rail with your weight forward and you'll keep the speed for the top turn 👍
