Giles Oatley Well I'm 59, but I tend to go there when there aren't hordes of kids around, mostly because it means I can just practice the same thing over and over without needing to wait for others 🙂

Ian Warren  Thanks for that, I've had another look at my video and I see what you mean. I'm sort of rushing on the upslope, compressing late, then extending too early (and too quickly), before the board really gets onto the transition.I'll have another go on Wednesday and hopefully be able to get it sorted 🤞

Nice video! I think you're right about the level, because you look like you're taking what Clay calls the Intermediate line, racing out onto the shoulder, your POV footage shows the wave off into the distance, but you're not looking back to the foam. You have a nice relaxed posture, but maybe it's a bit too relaxed as your hands are low and not following the angle of the wave.Try turning your back foot so it's more like 45 degrees from the nose and bring your coffee cup (back) arm up and forward. This will let you get more front on and make it easier to look back to the foam.

@Libby - Clay started using his fists when he had to have surgery on the palms of his hands. It does also have the advantage of effectively adding a couple of extra inches to your arm.

A correction to my previous correction!

It was the March Feedback Session that didn't work, the April one is available.

If you can't see it, I suggest you message Jeremy Dean

Apologies for any confusion I may have caused 😳

You need to get more front on, that way you can stop racing down the line and look back towards the pocket which is out of the picture! 😮Try to lead with your coffee cup (back) arm and get your hips and shoulders facing the way you're going, that will make it easier for you to twist and look at the foam.

Here's an article that Luke Hardacre wrote about this: https://community.ombe.co/posts/what-to-do-if-you-surf-in-one-stance-and-skate-in-the-other

BTW nice video, can I suggest you try to turn a bit more front on and push the coffee cup arm (back arm) more forward.

That should help you stack on the front foot and let you relax and straighten your back 🙂

Oops, sorry, I meant April 😳

Which video are you talking about? There's no link in your post. But if it was the March Feedback Session [Correction: April - re-correction, it ,*was* the March one that didn't work!], there isn't a video due to technical issues (Clay and Ant spent 40 minutes talking into a camera that wasn't recording!)

Find a local skate park or pump track and follow the videos in the Intermediate course.

Then post some video and get feedback from people on here 🙂
