You don’t know what you don’t know. Try learn to do some turns in a bowl on a surf skate to understand the dynamics involved. This way it will be an easier progression and you will know if the board is helping or holding you back

I’m not big on keel fins as they are drivey and fast but hard to turn. It’s more of a modern fish based of in the pocket surfing but for weaker waves
