Exciting Changes Ahead! 🌊We’ve restructured our footage review process to make it more beneficial for everyone. While live sessions will be on pause as we adapt to new dynamics with our two candidates, we’re thrilled to announce a fresh approach: your submissions will now be reviewed and shared here in the community! Here’s why we’re embracing this new method:✔️More Engagement: Posting reviews here encourages interaction and brings our quieter members into the conversation. Lives were limiting, as only those free at the time could participate.✔️Flexibility for Clay: With a packed schedule of retreats next year, this setup allows Clay to review submissions remotely during his downtime—ensuring faster and more consistent feedback.✔️Easier Access: Every review and takeaway will be visible to everyone, making it simpler to learn and improve without sifting through past live sessions.✔️Focused Feedback: This organized system will help you concentrate on specific areas to improve.🔔 A few reminders: • Submit one video at a time to give everyone a fair chance for feedback. • Avoid submitting distant or surf-cam footage—Clay needs clear visuals to provide effective, actionable advice. We can’t thank you enough for your support, patience, and understanding as we work through these changes together. Your willingness to adapt and grow with us means the world, and we’re so appreciative of this amazing community. 🙏P.S. I’ve added a Google sheet in the comments for tracking your submissions. If you’d like your older footage skipped, simply select “Y” in column F. This will indicate you’re uploading newer training footage. If you select “N,” Clay will proceed with reviewing your current submission. Let us know if you have any questions!

Hey beautiful people! Got a great OMBE story to share with you all! 😉
Despite the fact that my regular board is under repaid, and the massive wind we had today, I decided to go surfing today! And I am so glad I did! Was the best breakthrough moment for me ! And it’s all because of OMBE ✌️
As I said my board is getting fixed so I used a shorter board which I got as a gift, fish board, 6’1, 35 litres. I usually surf a 7’4, 56 litres. So pretty big difference ! 🤪
As I walked on the beach to the surf spot I saw the surfers from the beach and I thought this could be me, I could be doing that too!
And guess what?! I managed to catch waves, stand up on the fish board and even felt the board going on rails for the first time !!! It was sooo amazing the feeling on carving the water on the board! Wow! I can see the potential! 🙂
My short board was going so fast, I could only pop up once today, I had to hard time coordinate all the movements with so little time and so much speed! 💨
So I just watched the board course which is absolutely fantastic! And I now know the fish Board really picks up on speed!🤯
Now I may want to get a mid length board, lighter and rounder to work my turns, so that I can get on rails 🚃!
I just found this board for sake at the local surf shop where I got my board fixed. It is a 7’0 board with 50 litres volume. Round tail. Round nose. Looks pretty good! It’s locally made so the shaper knows the local waves.
Any tips to help me decide if this is the right move? 🙏
Thanks for everything!

Hi!
I'm looking for someone, who could film my sessions at The Wave tomorrow (17.08) at 8AM and on 18.08 at 7AM. I know it's short notice, but maybe I'll have some luck ;-)

Paid job ofc!

Cheers,
Aleks

Hi Ombee friends,

With the front facing posture but feet needing to be angled somewhat sideways for balance, any thoughts on how to keep knees healthy & in proper alignment?

Hey all. I am 58 with an arthritic back, so it makes perfect sense to start skating! Jokes aside, I want to start giving it a go. I went to a local shop, and discovered that traditional surf skates have a pivoting front truck. I was thinking I was going to walk out of there with just a road cruiser, but the pivoting front truck through me off. They seem squirrely. Is this what I should purchase? The guy in the shop was saying, they are too squirly for the slightest of declines, and are NOT suited for ramps in parks either. Are Clayton and Anthony using skates with the pivoting front axle or more stable road cruisers? Any suggestions for Brands and dimensions are welcome as well. Thank you!

Hi legends!
I'm pretty new to surfing, only about 10 months. I started on a minimal and have since gone down to a 6'2". It's one of Hayden Cox's Atelier performance cruisers. Pretty wide and lots of volume (45L). I love it a lot, it was a great board to move on to.

I'm now trying to work my bottom turns and cutbacks and getting more on rail. For a while I thought the board was stopping me but then I managed to do it a few times (although I'm sure it didn't look as great as it felt), so I reckoned it wasn't so much the board and I just needed to work more on the technique.
But I do feel like I can't quite get it all the time, especially if the wave is fast doesn't have a nice big face to do that drawn out turn.
So my question to the group is, do I need to move on to a more responsive board?
And, any thoughts on what direction to take with that board choice?
I'm 180cm, 75kg, realistically low intermediate but looking to get to that higher intermediate level. I surf at Queenscliff and Bondi beaches in Sydney (my wave knowledge is pretty limited, but I hope that helps with the types of waves I'm surfing).
Or am I being impatient and should just keep trying with my current board?
Really loving the programs, and can see massive improvements within just a couple of weeks of using the OMBE method.
Really appreciate any help! Cheers

Hello! I am new here, and excited to be starting the OMBE programs! I am now based in South Brazil, and just starting to surf!

Yesterday I have been applying for the first time what I learned here, and it felt so much better!

The coffee cups, the sprint stance, all of that really made a big difference, even if I am still a beginner surfer.

I can understand better what I need to do to be more in control of my surfing and to have more fun and flow!

I am really enjoying the materials!! Thanks for everything!

With a slight smile ;)—and more important—a nod towards Clayton Mark Nienaber and the Ombe Surf team, I present to you the "Ombe changed my Life Documentary" real investigative surf journalism

Thanks to anyone who spends time watching this :) I hope it was able to make you smile a little https://www.youtube.com/watch?fbclid=IwAR3fX8MpUSUsJ1cCOQDNG13kUe15DwHoLvIlMkxNcCuqaaJN9aU2nRI5CjM&v=h4f7jNA4lHw&feature=youtu.be

Hey everyone! Wondering if there’s any OMBE people in the New England area? Would love to link up if so. This has been an amazing program so far. I’m an advanced long boarder but intermediate short boarder and the program has helped so much with all aspects of my surfing.
