Exciting Changes Ahead! 🌊We’ve restructured our footage review process to make it more beneficial for everyone. While live sessions will be on pause as we adapt to new dynamics with our two candidates, we’re thrilled to announce a fresh approach: your submissions will now be reviewed and shared here in the community! Here’s why we’re embracing this new method:✔️More Engagement: Posting reviews here encourages interaction and brings our quieter members into the conversation. Lives were limiting, as only those free at the time could participate.✔️Flexibility for Clay: With a packed schedule of retreats next year, this setup allows Clay to review submissions remotely during his downtime—ensuring faster and more consistent feedback.✔️Easier Access: Every review and takeaway will be visible to everyone, making it simpler to learn and improve without sifting through past live sessions.✔️Focused Feedback: This organized system will help you concentrate on specific areas to improve.🔔 A few reminders: • Submit one video at a time to give everyone a fair chance for feedback. • Avoid submitting distant or surf-cam footage—Clay needs clear visuals to provide effective, actionable advice. We can’t thank you enough for your support, patience, and understanding as we work through these changes together. Your willingness to adapt and grow with us means the world, and we’re so appreciative of this amazing community. 🙏P.S. I’ve added a Google sheet in the comments for tracking your submissions. If you’d like your older footage skipped, simply select “Y” in column F. This will indicate you’re uploading newer training footage. If you select “N,” Clay will proceed with reviewing your current submission. Let us know if you have any questions!

Hi team

I've been an OMBE/Amanzi/Clay's Elanora Skateramp member for some time now and love what I see this community do to help other surfers become better versions of themselves

The youtube links below are the first time I've ever seen footage of myself and it is... very humbling! I'd really appreciate if you guys can identify a few key points for me to work on so I can tie it in to the specific trainings that OMBE offers. I really struggle with frontside top top turning, always feeling like I am going to fall backwards? I feel like I get locked up trying to look behind me... I also might be overdoing the extension on the cardboard slide 😂

Hey all — going to be in Taghazout next week. 🤙 Anyone been there and got some insider tips for good breaks? I’m a lower intermediate — probably be doing some longboarding and some mid-length as the week progresses… Anchor point looks a bit on the gnarly side for me when it gets bigger though … 😬

Jeremy Dean  I'm just wondering if the Local Groups (eg UK Surfers, North Devon Surfers etc) are going to be carried over to here?

I connect to the OMBE platform(s) through the desktop web interface. When on the new train.ombe.co/community platform I see only the ombe-community and ombe-updates areas but nothing explicitly saying "insider".

I believe that I'm still an  Insider so should I be seeing more content on the new platform?  🤔

Sometimes it's the simplest or smallest things...

I've been trying to get my shortboard walk up working, ie pushing up onto my knees, rather than my toes for when I'm using a smaller board.

When I'm at home, I can practice it on the carpet, no problems, it works fine, but today I, again, couldn't get it to work.

Because of the conditions (small, a bit messy) I was using my 7'6 board which is about the shortest I can do the "toes" method, but trying to avoid doing that.

Except, every time I walked up, I was finding I still not using my knees and I couldn't figure out why, even though, before I went out, I'd practiced on the beach and it had been fine.

So eventually I rode a wave back in, put the board on the beach and tried again, seeing if I could figure out what I was doing differently.

And suddenly it clicked!

When I was on the waves, my hands were coming a bit further forward on the board so they were under my shoulders, but when I was practicing on the beach, they were down by my lower ribs!

So I went back out again and, ok, it wasn't perfect, but I was definitely using my knee/ shin much more 👍

I'll have to practice more to get it drilled it, but it's amazing how much a few inches difference in hand placement can change things 🙂

Hey there. I'm headed to Australia for the month of march. I'll be surfing byron bay, perth, and margaret river areas. Will i need to bring a wetsuit? if so what thickness would you recommend?

Cheers!

Hi! I have been surfing natural for a couple of months pretty good at popping up on a 6’10 board and can turn along the wave a bit - just bought a surf skate and I am definitely goofy should I switch my surfing stance before it’s too ingrained?

Hello, is there supposed to be an email sent so I can send in my video of my surfing for analysis in the group meeting every month? Am I missing something? thanks in advance.
