A couple from today. I feel like it’s nowhere near as explosive and fast as it felt (says every surfer seeing themselves surf)

I am still so far away from decent surfing that this is even embarrassing to say, but I have felt the “buttons” on the board for the first time and could turn to the foam and the back to the face of the wave. Skateboarding is helping a lot. Next time I’d like to drop more vertical from the pop up and try a proper bottom turn. In addition I have to look better towards were I want to go. On the skate it’s starting to happen. Not yet in the water.
Hi there, Been trying to get back into surfing over the last few years. I'm starting to get more consistent popup wise (still have off days tho) and to get the hang of compression and extension a bit, which feels really cool. I feel like I could get better at using my arms and getting my top turns a bit higher.
Would love any tips folk might have, keen to keep improving.
I haven't been able to upload, so threw a clip of me surfing on vimeo instead: https://vimeo.com/1085500345/b6b0982cb7?share=copy Huge thanks in advance for taking a look and sharing thoughts here!

I'm going to be at Croyde from the afternoon of Tuesday 20th until Saturday the 24th.
If anyone is around and wants to meet up for a surf or mutual coaching, please reply here or drop me a message 🤙
Hi all! Hope you are doing well. I was lucky enough to get some footage on my last surf trip. Any feedback or comments would be super appreciated. In particular I find it pretty ticky to generate speed on my backside. Thanks in advance ☺️

For anyone in the UK, Surfers Against Sewage are organising countrywide paddle-out protests to complain about the state of our rivers and seas next Saturday, the 17th of May.

Hello I'm Fredi and I'm new here and wanted to say Hiii 😁 here's a funny wipeout clip of me...
I remember Clayton Nienaber mentioned that white (standard) boards last longer than boards with color. I can't find that specific video, but would anyone be able to explain why? Google hasn't helped me in this endeavor either...
