For me, you need to think, what is your target audience here, what is the age and lifestyle group you are trying to talk to. Beyond that you need to think, what is the meaning of the logo, what is it trying to say? A logo itself isn’t a brand, neither is the name OMBE or this app. The brand is the set of experiences and feelings asocatied with OMBE, so the logo should be representing one or two of these aspects, rather then just created for Aesthetics. For me the bottom right, second down on the left feel a bit childish, but might work if the rationale is about surfing with the freedom of a child. The middle left and top right, feel influenced by passport stamps so tap into connotations of travel. For me personally I like the top left one, mostly because it feels timeless and contemporary, with a hint to surfing. Don’t make the shape a surfboard, that’s too obvious, if brands did that ‘Apple’s’ logo would be a computer. The other logo I like, is the one thrid down on the right. Conceptually this is circular and surfing is a never ending process of learning so this is perhaps a good representation of this. What I would suggest is to take the logos you like and put them in a few mock ups, such as T-shirts, caps etc, it’s always difficult judging a logo in its pure form rather then on its intended medium. Finally, ‘design by Committee’ or getting everyone’s opinion on something to move forward, in my experience can be a nightmare. People rarely know what they want until they see the finished thing, and generally play it safe. While trying to make everyone happy, you end up with a watered down result. Best, to trust your gut and get the opinion of a few people you trust. Good luck!

Also in terms of the speed of the pop up. I think when you glide into a wave you have more time then you think. It’s only really on a late take off when you have to react super fast. I would try to focus on the form of the slow one and just do that as fast as you can while keeping the form correct. If your up in one or two seconds I think you should be fine.

I’m no surf expert. But it looks like your slow pop up is good. But your fast one, it seams like both of your feet are hitting the deck at the same time. It looks to me in the fast one you are springing up rather then walking up. To be honest I’m not even sure you need to pop up that fast…

Yes, I would say so. But strangely I find it easier to surf this setting now because there’s more power in the wave. There’s more sections you can hit and a very very small barrel if your in the right place and make yourself small!
