Graham Marsden I think I need to tie that arm to my side. I think it's reacting to something else I am doing rather than leading the movement.

For the take off, I am really surprised how much I am misreading the wave in the water. I think part of it is fear of getting stuck behind the section.

I've been riding mostly weak, crumbly, closeout summer time beach break waves for the last month or so.  It's nice getting out in the water and getting some exercise, but it's been frustrating in terms of my surfing and lack of progression.  Might even be regressing in some aspects.

I would definitely trade some of those ocean sessions for a more productive session at a wave pool.  I have limited wave pool experience, but hoping to get to one in the near future.

What I've found with surfing in the ocean is that I can get a fun intermediate level ride out of a good wave, but I'm not really able to manufacture a decent ride out of a bad wave the way some more advanced surfers can.

Pretty interesting the way the board really followed where you were looking on the top turn.

Jon B I started on CX trucks and got a good deal on a used C7 setup later on. I like the C7 better for certain low speed turns, but I find it a lot harder to flow around the bowl and less stable than the CX.

Nice, that's looking pretty smooth. Looks like you had a good rhythm going before that first turn.

Giulio Bamonte Yeah, I would go with the new board after seeing the clip. From your description in the post I was picturing more of a struggle, but I think that looks pretty good.

Do you have any footage surfing on the new board?

Have you surfed at Bristol before? I'm not familiar wirh either wave pool, but it might be better to limit the variables and take the bigger board if you don't have much experience at Bristol. You'd still have the option to rent a smaller board for a couple sessions if you find the bigger board is holding you back.

Looks like you are pumping and flowing well around the bowl. For working on turns, I like to focus on a corner and hit it with less speed so there is more time to work on the upper body movement.
