If you're finding the knee wants to move to the outside of the arm it may be you are not arching enough per pop up. Try to make sure your locking those elbows out as straight as possible before performing the pop up.

There is a video in the learning were Ant mentioned the same thing and if I remember correctly that was basically Clayton's explanation of it. Don't have time to look for that specific video at the moment though as I'm at work...and they are actually making me do things today.... the nerve of these people!

Well Ant I'm sorry to see your leaving. It Must be something you really want though,. I don't know what would be able to drag me away from a job that involved surfing and helping other to learn to surf, so I can only imagine it must be something your heart really wants. Hope everything works out for the best for you. You will be missed, but unless Clayton refilms everything you will live on in the OMBE community forever.

Excited to see what comes next for OMBE.

Scott Wagenblast I can do it on the small banks my park has. I've watched soo many how to videos on it. But standing on top of the 4 foot incline, with my head another 6 feet over that and thinking I'll break something makes me chicken out everytime.

I literally just need someone to come hold my hand for 2 or 3 attempts and tell me if I'm doing it right. Unfortunately having just moved here recently I don't yet have any skate friends that would do it with me. And I've seen this coach there teaching kids on random mornings when I go. If I have the pay the dude for a day till I get it so be it.

Feel like once I'm over that fear I'll have speed for everything else I need/want to learn. If he is good maybe he can help me learn grinds on the coping too.

Graham Marsden so I actually decided to email a skateboarding coach In the area to inquire about them teaching me to drop in. I've seen them at the park teaching kids before and thought I should do that and just never did.

Being older and fragile it's just not worth me breaking a wrist or leg and being out of work to learn. So I'm willing to pay some dude to basically come hold my hand till I get it down. Have a phone call with them tomorrow to discuss it.

Feel like if I can get the drop in learned the rest should be fairly easy. See how It goes...

Graham Marsden I can drop in on the bank. It's when I stand up on the coping and look down I just can't bring myself to do it. I fear breaking my arm or head or something.

Picture is good enough. I'll give it a go tomorrow if it's not raining here. I really just need to grow a pair and learn to drop in. Standing up there though it just scares me too much.

Per the suggestion of Scott Wagenblast trying to change my line to work on getting my head lower and carving around the corner instead of just cruising around the bowl.
Not gonna lie much more difficult then I had expected. Mainly trying to build enough speed going into the turn. I don't know how to drop in yet- I feel like that would really help here instead of pushing from the bottom and trying to pump around the bowl to get the speed the hit the corner. By the time I get enough speed my legs are already burning (too many squats last night I guess.)
Will keep working on it. I realize the whole turn needs work. Getting my head around, getting the coffee cup passing around, getting the front arm up and outta the way. I don't pretend these are good turns....YET! Gotta start somewhere though...

I'll give it a go.

Figured I'd post my most recent clips since it doesn't seem like there is gonna be a feedback session for a while.
Pretty happy with my 1st 2 turns, unfortunately my park doesn't really have a corner, just the half pipe... thinking I may have to drive 2 hours to the next closest park to get a good corner bowl section with a nice roll in, so I can work on getting my head lower through the turn.

In the bowl I'm trying, rather unsuccessfully to do the same thing, kiss the knee more and head my head lower in line with the board. Feeling like it's probably a little bit of a speed issue since I'm too afraid to drop in to this one.

I watched the feedback from the "unlocking your backhand" session and Clayton mentioned to multiple people about getting that head lower and letting the board pivot around it. Again, kinda feeling like my park doesn't really offer a section that would be good for working on that. But I am trying to get those airplane wings to roll/lean.
As always any feedback welcome. If I ever make it to the other park I'll be sure to get lots of clips, but a 4 hour drive (2 each way) plus time at the park is hard to come by with 2 young kids so not sure if that's gonna happen any time soon.
