I mean honestly you form/technique seems okay to me. I think you may need to progress to a board with more rocker instead of the foamie it looks like your riding. Maybe the wave pool has something you can rent and try out. Something in the high 6 to 7 foot range. Narrower nose, little more rocker.

The board your riding to me looks really flat and it's gonna be difficult to get that up and down pump going on that.

Clayton can chime in here and tell me I'm wrong, he would obviously know a lot better than me, but that's what I felt watching the clip.

Laughed out loud at "I've never been allowed to push the buttons."

Clayton Nienaber part 1: figure 8s.

This was drastically less successful.

Trying to do the figure 8s per video 1 feedback. Very unsuccessful. It's such a tight turn radius, that at this point feels like short of doing a kickturn at the second part, or putting my arm down and doing a burt slide I'm not really sure how I can fit it in.
Not gonna give up as these were only the first few attempts, but that 2nd corner is not a mirror of the 1st corner as there is a roll in there, which makes the corner less rounded off. The roll in is aimed at the 1st corner of my figure 8, so coming out of the first halve I'm heading basically straight up the roll In.
I will keep at it and see it I can get it but it's for sure gonna be a tough on to master.

Clayton Nienaber part 2 arms vs legs: based on feedback from previous video submission.

Forgot to take my cups with me, left them on the counter on the way out the door, tried to replicate it anyway. It was a little awkward only cause I had to avoid the one corner which is always wet from some reason first thing in the am.

My understanding is quads will give you more speed in the less than ideal conditions. Twin fins will also do the same thing, while the thruster gives you more pivot.

I'm not an expert though, so I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken.

I like this approach. Making those times was often difficult for me. Two thumbs up!

If you're finding the knee wants to move to the outside of the arm it may be you are not arching enough per pop up. Try to make sure your locking those elbows out as straight as possible before performing the pop up.

There is a video in the learning were Ant mentioned the same thing and if I remember correctly that was basically Clayton's explanation of it. Don't have time to look for that specific video at the moment though as I'm at work...and they are actually making me do things today.... the nerve of these people!

Well Ant I'm sorry to see your leaving. It Must be something you really want though,. I don't know what would be able to drag me away from a job that involved surfing and helping other to learn to surf, so I can only imagine it must be something your heart really wants. Hope everything works out for the best for you. You will be missed, but unless Clayton refilms everything you will live on in the OMBE community forever.

Excited to see what comes next for OMBE.
