It will be different for every board depending on size - you have to find the sweet spot. But don’t worry too much about the back foot, pay attention to where the front foot is - that’s where you should be getting the stability from, weight on your front foot. Your back foot will move around depending on what the board is doing - check out the professional surfers, their back foot is always moving.

I like the google maps analogy - I’m guilty of just trying to get to the destination without enjoying the journey.

There is a week of coaching before us so the accommodation is full until the 20th, I think.

People are arriving all throughout the first day - we have a welcome dinner in the evening and get into the surf coaching the next morning. The beach is right out front so you can go surf if you want at any time.

The resort has a local guide who will be able to tell you anything you want to know about the area - he’s an American who’s been living there for a long time.

The people at the Malibu Popoyo are really great, you can contact them with any questions, no problems.

This looks like a lovely bowl, where is it?

Your back is upright and coffee cup out but you aren’t banking on your turns, it looks like you could be concentrating on staying upright in your back and are then not leaning into the turn.

I would recommend that you submit this for the monthly zoom and get some feedback from Clayton.

It doesn’t have to be in the water - try your pop up on land, film it and post it here for us to see (although it would be better to post in the community app as you would get more responses). You’d be surprised what you can see on film

I think swimming is recommended for paddle fitness - but you should be working your lats more, I think, as that’s where your power is coming from
