Ok so you compress and extend which should make you go up and down but you look too far ahead towards the future of the wave and surf middle and laterally. Look up to the top on the extensions and down at the bottom to feed the body the right information. It’s purely a looking issue

Hi Dylan

Lots of nervous energy from the arms and the some heavy clunky forced lower body movements and they don’t seem to be working together. Good surfing is timing and positioning. With out looking at the video did you remember the wave or is it a blur. You need to slow each part of the wave down and be comfortable where you are on the wave. Atm you arms say that you are not. It’s like the arms are in flight mode and the legs are frozen. All normal behaviour.

Try to always project up. It puts you in a higher potential zone for more speed that uses gravity. This is smart surfing. Racing across is hard work with lower potential energy and you do all the work. Start here and work on you recall

Too many what if’s. I’ll look and lean into it. Eyes lead and body follows

Apologies for the issues. Try Liana@surflab.ai

Looked good mate. When on rail the board cuts through wobble and chop. When you balanced on the board for safety the board bounced a lot. The trick is more rail to rail and less safe surfing

In snow boarding the top of the mountain has highest potential. So you look for the ski lift to take you there. When waves meet resistance the create lift. I look for these and follow that up to the top ie extending and ride down compression.

Great question. The energy in a wave moves in a orbital motion is up and down. Waves also bend around resistance so there are no straight lines ie half pipe. Learning to surf inside of the energy is key.

Looks good and fast. First bottom turn made a lot of speed that shot you onto the shoulder and then you surfed flat as you got a bit lost on the wave. Just repeat the take off and stay in the pocket where the energy lives

Thanks guys

Trust the wave to give you the speed. Surfing safe on the wave in low potential areas ie middle or bottom means you have to compensate using your body to generate speed instead of the wave. More top to bottom would make a huge difference
