Exciting Changes Ahead! 🌊We’ve restructured our footage review process to make it more beneficial for everyone. While live sessions will be on pause as we adapt to new dynamics with our two candidates, we’re thrilled to announce a fresh approach: your submissions will now be reviewed and shared here in the community! Here’s why we’re embracing this new method:βœ”οΈMore Engagement: Posting reviews here encourages interaction and brings our quieter members into the conversation. Lives were limiting, as only those free at the time could participate.βœ”οΈFlexibility for Clay: With a packed schedule of retreats next year, this setup allows Clay to review submissions remotely during his downtimeβ€”ensuring faster and more consistent feedback.βœ”οΈEasier Access: Every review and takeaway will be visible to everyone, making it simpler to learn and improve without sifting through past live sessions.βœ”οΈFocused Feedback: This organized system will help you concentrate on specific areas to improve.πŸ”” A few reminders: β€’ Submit one video at a time to give everyone a fair chance for feedback. β€’ Avoid submitting distant or surf-cam footageβ€”Clay needs clear visuals to provide effective, actionable advice. We can’t thank you enough for your support, patience, and understanding as we work through these changes together. Your willingness to adapt and grow with us means the world, and we’re so appreciative of this amazing community. πŸ™P.S. I’ve added a Google sheet in the comments for tracking your submissions. If you’d like your older footage skipped, simply select β€œY” in column F. This will indicate you’re uploading newer training footage. If you select β€œN,” Clay will proceed with reviewing your current submission. Let us know if you have any questions!

Hi !
After finally moving closed to the ocean, I progressed a lot since then but I feel like I struggled to fix some of my mistakes and it leads to a lot of frustration πŸ˜…
I struggled to be right at the peak, often too much inside or to much backward.. When I'm well placed, often I take off to late and I'm behind the section, I never really surfed down the line and this is really frustrating πŸ₯²
I tried the Oreo biscuit technics and it worked well on couple waves but sometimes I do it too early
If you have some tips πŸ™πŸΌ
Maybe my board is too demanding for my low intermediate level, it's a 6'7 and I'm 6'4 and 83 kilos what's your thoughts ?

I'm interested in getting a board shaped by Clay. Is https://www.claytonsurf.com/ the best place to get started with with?

Had a Puncture in the bosu. Have repaired it with this vinyl repair kit. You need a vinyl specific repair kit for vinyl because most glues won’t work due to the oil used in vinyl products.

Hi all, Any thoughts on the best surf forecast online for East Anglia (UK)? I used to use Magic Seaweed and it was pretty good, but when it moved over to Surfline the forecast never seems to be that close to actual conditions.

Just came across this on the Basics podcast… not had time to watch it yet ( up for a dawn surf tomorrow) but I’m sure it will be good. Clayton Nienaber of Ombe Surf : Understanding, speed, power, and flow.

Just curious if anyone that has been bowl/ramp skating with their Cx or C5 trucks has switched to riding regular skateboard trucks like Indys or the like.
I've been enjoying my transition skating so much as I've become more comfortable with it but have a new found desire to try some normal skateboarding tricks like Ollie's, maybe grinding a few rails and just utilizing the features of my local park more every time I go.
Recently switched my deck from the Carver Quill, with a 17" wheelbase, to an Andy Anderson Heron deck with my C5s trucks. But the Heron deck does have a 2" shorter wheelbase, which is made even shorter with the reverse kingpin of the C5 front truck.
So now I'm considering throwing some Indy trucks on that to widen that out to the 15" wheelbase the Heron deck has. Was wondering if anyone has switched to standard skateboard trucks and how that compares to the C5s or CX trucks, since we are all probably skating to improve our surfing.
Any thoughts or experiences are welcome as I've never really ridden a normal skateboard truck.
Also for anyone trying out new wheels on their surfskate. The powell peralta dragon wheels are mindblowing amazing. Highly recommend! I don't think I'll ever skate a different wheel after trying these.
