Exciting Changes Ahead! 🌊We’ve restructured our footage review process to make it more beneficial for everyone. While live sessions will be on pause as we adapt to new dynamics with our two candidates, we’re thrilled to announce a fresh approach: your submissions will now be reviewed and shared here in the community! Here’s why we’re embracing this new method:✔️More Engagement: Posting reviews here encourages interaction and brings our quieter members into the conversation. Lives were limiting, as only those free at the time could participate.✔️Flexibility for Clay: With a packed schedule of retreats next year, this setup allows Clay to review submissions remotely during his downtime—ensuring faster and more consistent feedback.✔️Easier Access: Every review and takeaway will be visible to everyone, making it simpler to learn and improve without sifting through past live sessions.✔️Focused Feedback: This organized system will help you concentrate on specific areas to improve.🔔 A few reminders: • Submit one video at a time to give everyone a fair chance for feedback. • Avoid submitting distant or surf-cam footage—Clay needs clear visuals to provide effective, actionable advice. We can’t thank you enough for your support, patience, and understanding as we work through these changes together. Your willingness to adapt and grow with us means the world, and we’re so appreciative of this amazing community. 🙏P.S. I’ve added a Google sheet in the comments for tracking your submissions. If you’d like your older footage skipped, simply select “Y” in column F. This will indicate you’re uploading newer training footage. If you select “N,” Clay will proceed with reviewing your current submission. Let us know if you have any questions!

Anyone have any good surfing related new years resolutions or goals?

I mainly surf the same beach break all the time, but I've never paid much attention to what swell direction, etc. works best for the break.  I just look at the wave height and color on surfline and hope for offshore winds and favorable tides during the window when I am free to surf.

I have noticed certain swells are more likely to produce closeouts, but I am thinking my goal might be to better understand the conditions and make note of the different metrics after each session.

I’ve just signed up for a trial 7days.

Before digging further I was just wondering what level I am at and what modules would be best for me to start?!

Soooooo much info and support it’s hard to know where I fit and where to start, or just to go back to basics, reset and undo all my dirty habits.

Feeling good on the compression and extension frontside. However, when I go to do a cutback, rail bogs (spelling?). It's happening pretty frequently. Any thoughts here?

Is anyone around Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs keen to do surf training in the OMBE style together?

I’m working through the 12-week surf smart program and just finished week 4, so I thought I’d post for a 1/3 way through check in.

I feel like it’s a clean pop up, but I’m embarrassingly stiff. Any advice in loosening up or in general? I feel that I could have built speed better as well. Should I have tried to pump up and down the face or taken a higher line from the takeoff?

Embracing the suck. I now realize that I am more of a beginner than an intermediate when I look at my videos. Putting my ego aside I must get to the fundamentals. this video highlight illustrates a few things I race to the bottom run out of speed and I am surfing sideways
