Exciting Changes Ahead! 🌊We’ve restructured our footage review process to make it more beneficial for everyone. While live sessions will be on pause as we adapt to new dynamics with our two candidates, we’re thrilled to announce a fresh approach: your submissions will now be reviewed and shared here in the community! Here’s why we’re embracing this new method:✔️More Engagement: Posting reviews here encourages interaction and brings our quieter members into the conversation. Lives were limiting, as only those free at the time could participate.✔️Flexibility for Clay: With a packed schedule of retreats next year, this setup allows Clay to review submissions remotely during his downtime—ensuring faster and more consistent feedback.✔️Easier Access: Every review and takeaway will be visible to everyone, making it simpler to learn and improve without sifting through past live sessions.✔️Focused Feedback: This organized system will help you concentrate on specific areas to improve.🔔 A few reminders: • Submit one video at a time to give everyone a fair chance for feedback. • Avoid submitting distant or surf-cam footage—Clay needs clear visuals to provide effective, actionable advice. We can’t thank you enough for your support, patience, and understanding as we work through these changes together. Your willingness to adapt and grow with us means the world, and we’re so appreciative of this amazing community. 🙏P.S. I’ve added a Google sheet in the comments for tracking your submissions. If you’d like your older footage skipped, simply select “Y” in column F. This will indicate you’re uploading newer training footage. If you select “N,” Clay will proceed with reviewing your current submission. Let us know if you have any questions!

Made it to the Atlantic Park Surf Lagoon today. Have a couple more sessions this weekend.

Working on that first turn. I can see I need to get my front arm out of the way and follow thru with my back arm.

This was the intermediate wave, which I thought was a lot of fun.

Visited the new skate park in Shibuya today, first time taping myself. Trying to get my front shoulder out of the way and eyes up and ahead. Any other pointers?

Hi riders,

I went to the pump track today, it was my second time there. I feel that I’m getting a better timing on speed generation but still lacking speed on some parts of the track.

I wonder if you guys had some tips on what I should focus on the next time I go there to improve speed and flow.

Thanks 🙏🏼

Has anyone been to the Atlantic Park Surf Lagoon in Virginia Beach?

I am heading there in a couple weeks. Planning to do some intermediate sessions and focus on forehand carving turns/cutbacks.

Would be curious to hear about anyone else's experience beforehand.

Yesterday a local beach surf school which is right next to a cafe/ restaurant organised a social meeting for Surfers and paddle boarders at my nearby break.

Unfortunately conditions were virtually flat, but I got to meet a bunch of people, some of whom I'd seen whilst surfing, but not really talked to.

We started with a group warm up, then people did whatever they wanted, so a few of us got in some paddling practice up and down the beach.

Then I had a go at working on my duck diving technique, although not with much success as the board kept twisting when I couldn't get my rear foot central ☹️

Maybe next time I'll try with my knee and see if that works better.

Anyway, it was a nice get together and they hope to be doing it every couple of weeks 🤙

Following a suggestion from John Kuras, I invested in a set of Powell Peralta 64mm Dragon Wheels.

Even though they're 93a hardness, so technically softer than the Carver 95a Park Wheels I was using, I definitely found them faster and smoother! (Apparently it's something to do with the rebound on the urethane. Whatever...)

I wanted to try them out on the bowl I usually skate in, but unfortunately the drain was blocked and it was more like a paddling pool, so, instead, I tried them on the mini-metal half pipe.

Here's some video of my attempts, both frontside and backside https://youtu.be/MeBpABRdjqg

I'm a bit out of practice (been doing more surfing!), so I still need to work on the timing of the transitions, but John K also suggested adding a bit of "lift" from the back toe which I did find made a difference and I got further up the slope than I'd gone before.

Ok, so (yes, Clay, I know!) I still need to get my head lower, but I'm planning on getting to a different park with a better bowl hopefully next week, so maybe I'll be able to work on that there.
