How did people find out about this trip? I only know from reading these comments but I would be super interested in any future surf coaching trips.

Also I am a beginner (mostly) myself and I could be wrong but if you watch some of the later Bosu ball videos they tell you that you should be stacked over that front foot, so while you are working hard NOT to make the board unlevel I BELIEVE you would actually want it nose down as if you were dropping in.

Not sure you'd want to do that on your actual board with the towel though as I would be a little worried about dinging the nose.

Back knee should be pointed more forward to avoid the poo man stance and get yourself front on. Hands need to come up like you're holding the coffee cup to get you more balanced.

The wheels stay on the ground. No kick turn involved.

Tried doing these for the first time at the bottom of the Ramps as I finished a turn or dropped in. Whole different beast then just doing it on cardboard in my living room. I felt like my hands were throwing by my hips weren't moving.

Gonna continue to work on it as I progress forward. I just feel so off balance trying to do it on a rolling board.

Went back today for a quick 45 min session before work and very disappointed in myself. Tried picking up right where this session left off and getting more height.

Instead was dropping my hands, rolling down windows, looking down, doing all the wrong things.... realize I definitely need to start more slowly and do beginner turns to get warmed up and help keep my arms quiet. Then slowly build up height from there as my body gets used to remembering what it should do.

I really want to work on using my cardboard slide out of the turn too so that maybe I can carry enough speed across the flats to make it back up the incline on the opposite side. I can cardboard slide on cardboard at home but at the bottom of my turns its ugly and not functional.

A soft top is a good idea. Depending on your height/weight you may be able to go shorter... like 8 ft or 7ft. I'm 6'3" 170 lbs or 190.5cm 77.1 kg for you metric system people and I started on an 8ft board.

Any brand would do they are all similar. Catch surf/ Odysea or the Mick Fanning ones. As long as you have fins, lots of foam to floar you and a leash you'll be fine. They do make special wax for foam boards which does work a little better than wax for a normal PU or Poly board but any wax will work.

There should be more of these. Honestly I love the lessons and short video drills breakdown. But I feel like watching these I learn more. I watch the learner making the same mistakes I probably make, and Clay correcting him and it gives me a clue as to what to do to fix my issues. I do wish I had a few hours in the bowl with Clay giving me those little pointers, feel like I'd be ripping in no time.
