Thanks both for the feedback! If you look at my walkup/pop-up Im very side-on. I’m conscious about it and practice it often on land, but when I’m surfing, I end up doing it. I’ll try the 45-degree angle of my back foot to square up my shoulders

Great observation Jeff! I agree that sometimes, like in that situation, I’m in a rush to ensure I don’t miss the open face. The crowded lineup adds to the pressure, as I have to make trade-offs between being conscious about a good technique and not missing the open face
