Great observation Jeff! I agree that sometimes, like in that situation, I’m in a rush to ensure I don’t miss the open face. The crowded lineup adds to the pressure, as I have to make trade-offs between being conscious about a good technique and not missing the open face

Thanks both for the feedback! If you look at my walkup/pop-up Im very side-on. I’m conscious about it and practice it often on land, but when I’m surfing, I end up doing it. I’ll try the 45-degree angle of my back foot to square up my shoulders

Hey everyone! Here are two recent backside waves of mine. looking for feedback on what I can improve. I keep struggling with my stance on my backside, trying to stay front-centered, but somehow I end up in a sideways position. Thanks as always Clayton Nienaber and Community! All feedback is super helpful as I keep working to improve my lines

I think in this comparison, you can see both the differences you mentioned. I’ll focus on shortening my stance to put more pressure on my front foot/rail and get my front arm out of the way…thanks again Graham!

Thanks Graham ! super good tips. I’ll try them. When you say ‘putting the elbow in your back pocket,’ do you mean lifting it up first and then moving it back? Also, do you have any suggestions for my walk-up? On land I’ve got it pretty dialed, but when I’m surfing I tend to end up sideways. You can see my back knee coming up and rotating sideways instead of moving forward

Yeah I’ve noticed. I think it’s because I struggle with being back-foot heavy and not putting enough pressure on my front foot

Hey Clayton Nienaber and community, looking for any feedback on this cruisey wave. The one thing I keep noticing is my posture and not happy with my walk-up — I notice I keep standing slightly side-on. Any suggestions on that, or anything else in my surfing that I’m missing or can improve is always welcome. Yeww!

Thanks for the feedback Clayton Nienaber again! I’ve been more focused and applying it to my surfing this week, and the improvements are mind-blowing! I can feel how I generate more speed into the white water to make the rebound! Thanks again!!!
