Looks like a lovely peeling wave. I would recommend going for a more vertical approach.

O I don't mean a proper photo. It meant it as proof that you'd actually gone. So we can help you stick to the plan. Come to think of it it sounds kind of tempting to join you but I don't think I can make it work

Keep us updated with a photo every day so you can't back out!

Graham Marsden it's not a mind thing that you can think your way through. It's all feeling. Just do a million of them and it'll click at some point and then you'll never have to think about it again.

I only have two days unfortunately. Flying in this evening and leaving the night of the 22nd. 22 hrs of flying for 16hrs of surfing. Worth it :-)

I do love that board. Also intend to buy a second hand board when I'm there. The prices are amazing compared to back home.

In packing for two days of surfing in Cape Town as we speak. Anybody have any tips for waves I should check out? Last time I was there I spent some time at long beach at Kommetjie and had a blast but I think it'll be onshore there so planning too check other spots. Will have a car so we're pretty mobile.

Bettys Bay is on the list as an option, anything else off the beaten track I should be aware off?

Also: the Kalk Bay reef looks really cool, is it worth checking out or is it super sketchy?

Any tips would be very welcome!

I would recommend getting on a surf skate and spending some time working on compression and extension in a bowl.

First thing that comes to mind is that you're losing speed because you're surfing ahead of the pocket.

How does it feel? Much depends on the kid of waves you surf.

Could be a result of feeling uncomfortable?

I would recommend surf skating for working on stance issues.
