Graham Marsden: the article is really helpful, thanks!!

Thanks, Graham.  I had looked at chatGPT before writing, and it tells me this:

CX = snappy, responsive, precise — good for aggressive carving and transitions between surfskate and skatepark riding.

C7 = flowy, smooth, surf‑oriented — great if you want the closest feel to actual surfing or enjoy long, sweeping turns.

I ride a 7ft6 surfboard and my current level is trimming in a straight line with smooth turns gradually being added on, which is why I thought of the C7.  Whereas for more vertical shortboard surfing I imagine CX would be better and thus recommended by Clay.

But I don't know how much to trust chatGPT here...?

I am a relative beginner at surfing but have been making slow steady progress over the last 6 months.

Bosu training has been really useful, and I am thinking of adding surf skating to it.

I want a beginner set-up, as context I am 6ft1 and about 80kg, used to skate a bit when I was younger but it's now 30 years in the past so I'm basically starting from scratch. I am in the UK.

Would a board as in the link here be suitable for me?

What features should I look for / avoid as a beginner?  I saw a general article on this, but would really appreciate any specific advice.

Thanks!
