Got a smooth style there, looks good. My one thing. Open you arms on the turns more, especially your right arm... It gets in the way at times.

Great advice already... All I will add is, relax and don't be so eager to finish the wave... Not sure how long you wait for waves, take your time with them.

Hi Ricardo. To help with your balance bring your right arm up and infront of you, as if you are holding a cup of coffee. It will also get more front on, and more on the front foot which help maintain your speed.

Also, if you go higher up the wave in the pocket you will generate more speed coming down, keeping your weight more forward, with the coffee cup will help maintain the speed for the up part again.

Could have a look at Scarborough down the road from Kommejie towards the Peninsula, not sure if the wind or swell direction will be right, has potential for a fun wave there though. Was in Cape Town for a week a month back... didnt surf at all though because of poor conditions so can't give better advice. There is classic Muizenberg that might be an option. I am not a Cape Town expert so that about sums it up from my side...

If you start your line more straight down the wave ie nose to the beach, your first bottom turn will be sharper and closer to the pocket and then as already mentioned, hold the top turn for longer.

Having footage will help you and us review your technique better. Doing these exercises always perceived one way in our minds, until we see it on a screen... I learned early on... How I think I am doing it is not always how I am doing it... I don't think there is a better tool for progression than watching a recording of yourself.
