Hi Ricardo. To help with your balance bring your right arm up and infront of you, as if you are holding a cup of coffee. It will also get more front on, and more on the front foot which help maintain your speed.

Also, if you go higher up the wave in the pocket you will generate more speed coming down, keeping your weight more forward, with the coffee cup will help maintain the speed for the up part again.

check out Surfaid 30 day make a wave challenge. Coincides with your challenge. Its a challenge to surf or do a surf related activity for 30 days in September. For a great cause as well.

Could have a look at Scarborough down the road from Kommejie towards the Peninsula, not sure if the wind or swell direction will be right, has potential for a fun wave there though. Was in Cape Town for a week a month back... didnt surf at all though because of poor conditions so can't give better advice. There is classic Muizenberg that might be an option. I am not a Cape Town expert so that about sums it up from my side...

Love the board! Looks super fun. Enjoy! Are you making plans for a JBay stop over as well?

Hi Lucy... There's a really good school which I believe is in that area... If I remember right the school is called OMBE... and ask for Clayton 😉😜

If you start your line more straight down the wave ie nose to the beach, your first bottom turn will be sharper and closer to the pocket and then as already mentioned, hold the top turn for longer.

Having footage will help you and us review your technique better. Doing these exercises always perceived one way in our minds, until we see it on a screen... I learned early on... How I think I am doing it is not always how I am doing it... I don't think there is a better tool for progression than watching a recording of yourself.

lol... Wasn't quite the size and as clean as I was hoping for. Did however paddle out and give it go. Was a friggen mission though. Peaks popping all over, strong currents one way, then the other, so a lot of paddling to stay in position, Michiel van Gerven yes, lots of current. Was also difficult to get on the wave - lack of fitness - and when I did get a bit of a ride it would fade and then I'd have to duck dive the big sets, many landing just in front of me... Did get some footage (4 waves) which I will upload soon... It is not great... My popups reveal how unfit I am... lol. All in all it was a great day and had fun never the less... Grateful to have been out there and get my nasal cavities flushed 😂

Keep up with BOSU training... Slow and easy with a focus on technique. The pooman stance is a lack of two main things... Coffee cup arm not forward, and your hips are pointing in the wrong direction. Roll your hips forward, and then push them forward, which will also put you on your front leg more, I like to imagine I am hanging ten, even though I am on a short board. Imagine you holding a stick infront of you, better yet... Hold a stick infront of you. That will help you get more square on.

Will have a chat with it over the weekend... Test out my swell whispering 😜
