New seat..same old struggle bus. Really enjoying the suck though. Managed to chip a fairly big piece of concrete off the bowl on this first one.
Last one is about as close as I got. I'm gonna get it though...just takes time.
Feel like I could have made that last one IF I would have looked to the next target and not been so scared of that little ledge from the roll in, and IF I kept my left arm out in front instead of letting it get all crazy like.
So there's the goals for tomorrow....
Would also like to add here: I do realize my arms are low, and as Coach Clayton says I should point where I'm going. I was working on that as I got more comfortable with the angles of approach so that I could work on getting under that little ledge. I just didn't include those clips. BUT I do realize it needs to be fixed. Small progress every day.

Rewatching the like 45 mins bonus footage of Ant doing this turn in the forehand cutback section.

If I'm more upright going into first turn is the front hand doing more of a "hand turn point the thumb thing" while my right hand touches my face? Or is it the left hand up, open the shoulder blade turn?

Is it just a feel thing? Like the accomplish the same turn and it's what feels better in the turn thing? Is there a difference?

Straight your back and keep your arms up higher. You look down halfway through the turn

In the bonus video of Ant doing it in the Cutback section: Clayton says to him to toss the ball, straighten the back, and soften the knee through the turn.

I feel like here I was trying to soften before the turn and extend up the turn, even though it doesn't look like I actually do much extending.

Is the softening before the transition then extending up ONLY when we are talking about flowing around the bowl, BUT during a turn it kinda the opposite? Ie: straighten before the turn, soften through the turn?

I hope I'm explaining it all right. I know it's difficult to sometimes put motions in words that make it make sense. So I appreciate everyone's feedback.

Couldn't skate today as I actually have patients at work today and it's 23 degrees out so it's freezing. But I will be rewatching the bonus video again later and trying to apply that to what I'm trying to do.

The frontside turn is looking good. Is the other end of the bowl the same basic shape without the rollin? Looks like you had the back side turn if that ledge wasn't in the way.

I pretty much echo what others have said.

Lift the elbows to straighten the back and you should find it easier to point and twist.

Also maybe the other end of the bowl might be better?

A lot better than the last one. On that second turn focus on looking across diagonally to the top of the lip and you'll get it. As Hadyn Wood mentioned on the previous post you need a lot of speed to lean that far. Or rather, leaning is the only way to actually turn when you're going a lot faster.

That first turn is really good John. You looked and pointed with your back hand and it looked really smooth. The next turn you don't look and point. Probably a confidence thing? If you commit to trying to look and point back at the camera I think you'll nail it BUT please wear a helmet bud. No shame in looking after yourself and it may give you more super powers 🤠
