Exciting Changes Ahead! 🌊We’ve restructured our footage review process to make it more beneficial for everyone. While live sessions will be on pause as we adapt to new dynamics with our two candidates, we’re thrilled to announce a fresh approach: your submissions will now be reviewed and shared here in the community! Here’s why we’re embracing this new method:✔️More Engagement: Posting reviews here encourages interaction and brings our quieter members into the conversation. Lives were limiting, as only those free at the time could participate.✔️Flexibility for Clay: With a packed schedule of retreats next year, this setup allows Clay to review submissions remotely during his downtime—ensuring faster and more consistent feedback.✔️Easier Access: Every review and takeaway will be visible to everyone, making it simpler to learn and improve without sifting through past live sessions.✔️Focused Feedback: This organized system will help you concentrate on specific areas to improve.🔔 A few reminders: • Submit one video at a time to give everyone a fair chance for feedback. • Avoid submitting distant or surf-cam footage—Clay needs clear visuals to provide effective, actionable advice. We can’t thank you enough for your support, patience, and understanding as we work through these changes together. Your willingness to adapt and grow with us means the world, and we’re so appreciative of this amazing community. 🙏P.S. I’ve added a Google sheet in the comments for tracking your submissions. If you’d like your older footage skipped, simply select “Y” in column F. This will indicate you’re uploading newer training footage. If you select “N,” Clay will proceed with reviewing your current submission. Let us know if you have any questions!

Can I get links to discussions and lessons on surfing cross and cross-onshore waves with ridges, ledges, and lumps?

Im back on the surf skate after some months off because of injuries and now filming my sessions. I feel I am not able to generate more speed and have more control because im bending over at the hip to extend and/ or because im compressing at the top turn rather than maybe extending out coming down the ramp.

What do others think?

When I pop up, sometimes I do it really wel and can surf the line. However, sometimes when I’m popping up, I get up and fall forward, falling in front of my board and the board then drops on top of me. What is causing this? How can I fix my pop up? I feel like this is really limiting my improvement and would love to get help on this.

I got lots of splashes on my face from the nose of my fish board when catching a wave.
Am I not arching my back enough or not pushing my knee towards the pad enough?

Hello community- any recommendations for gaining paddling fitness while living in the desert of Utah? Should I freestyle swim at a fitness pool? Or put a floatation device under me and actually paddle in the pool? Or Tricep intensive power lifting? Any suggestions? I am fit for rock climbing but when I go on surf trips find my triceps limit my paddling stamina.

Hey friends, I'm going up for a week holiday to the Gold Coast, 2nd week of the school holidays, which falls on the first week of October. We will be staying in Burleigh Heads, so I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a surf school up there? OR if there is someone that might like to meet up or any other suggestions. How can I make the most of being up there? I've never been there to surf ever. I think I'm a progressing beginner, but would like to get better at going down the line and things like that. Anyway I've google a few places, but  I'm after recommendations from someone who might know what's up there. TIA!

I have a 31.5L Dominator 2, 5'9 and find it great to duck dive and when up and riding. However I struggle to get onto waves unless overhead. I also have a Hypto Krpto 5'10 33.4L and this is hard to duck dive, easy to catch waves but a bit too much board and slow when riding. So I am looking at a:

  1. RNF96

  2. DHD Phoenix

  3. DHD Black Diamond

What do you reckon? Surf 1ft overhead and under, punchy
