Exciting Changes Ahead! 🌊We’ve restructured our footage review process to make it more beneficial for everyone. While live sessions will be on pause as we adapt to new dynamics with our two candidates, we’re thrilled to announce a fresh approach: your submissions will now be reviewed and shared here in the community! Here’s why we’re embracing this new method:✔️More Engagement: Posting reviews here encourages interaction and brings our quieter members into the conversation. Lives were limiting, as only those free at the time could participate.✔️Flexibility for Clay: With a packed schedule of retreats next year, this setup allows Clay to review submissions remotely during his downtime—ensuring faster and more consistent feedback.✔️Easier Access: Every review and takeaway will be visible to everyone, making it simpler to learn and improve without sifting through past live sessions.✔️Focused Feedback: This organized system will help you concentrate on specific areas to improve.🔔 A few reminders: • Submit one video at a time to give everyone a fair chance for feedback. • Avoid submitting distant or surf-cam footage—Clay needs clear visuals to provide effective, actionable advice. We can’t thank you enough for your support, patience, and understanding as we work through these changes together. Your willingness to adapt and grow with us means the world, and we’re so appreciative of this amazing community. 🙏P.S. I’ve added a Google sheet in the comments for tracking your submissions. If you’d like your older footage skipped, simply select “Y” in column F. This will indicate you’re uploading newer training footage. If you select “N,” Clay will proceed with reviewing your current submission. Let us know if you have any questions!

I’m trying to learn a forehand and backhand turn on the surf skate and this video is from my first session. Right off the bat I can see I carry too much tension and am not pumping at the right time to use the energy of the walls and bowl, so I’m wasting energy.

I used a tennis ball to help me mark a line to follow and put numbers 1 - 4 and that really helps me keep my head up and hands forward to glide through and complete the turn.

Any pointers on how to get the feeling of the compression and extension in this context?

Also, I haven’t been able for drop down and do a frontside turn because my mind freezes, then my body, and I can’t flow through over my shoulder.

The swell is picking up now, and i try to bottom turn to aim for the more critical place, but then I think i rushed the top turn because i was scared, so the lips only hitted on me not on the board, is that maybe I should hold it longer for the bottom turn until the lip is going to hit the board? Or any tips or videos i should go to watch if aiming for a more powerful critical lips? Sorry only the photographer got the footage and no vidoe was captured 🙏🙏

Hi all, just coming back to OMBE after a bit of a surfing hiatus.

What’s the difference between OMBE and Surflab?

I see there’s a new structure

I got the lifetime membership from a while ago

Curious to hear how things are different/ stayed similar, recommendations on which sequence of courses to go deep into, and any other nuances Surflab brings

Thanks!

This turn felt pretty good in terms of maintaining speed and not losing the wave, but I still feel like I am fighting a counter rotation in the upper body.

My hands are going over my head almost like they would if I slipped on a wet floor or something.

I think I am rushing the bottom turn and bringing my back arm forward too early, but open to any other pointers.

Tried to zoom in on the turn but might be too blurry.

Hello everybody! Hope you're all enjoying your journey with the OMBE method 🤙

Could someone tell me where I can check the upcoming OMBE boat trips or retreat dates? I’d love to join one in the near future.

Thanks so much for your help! 🙏

I've got MRI shoulder Report back. 2 x 1cm tears in Rotator Cuff, Bursitis, Cyst and severe Osteoarthritis of shoulder joint. I told you it was painful to paddle 🤣

Stopped 3 weeks for surfing due to an injury, finally been back to water for a week. Want to ask for linking up the top turn, I think i am too late in dropping back to the wave? Or maybe I should try to kick the tail the pivot the board faster?

Would love feedback on this video from a session on the intermediate wave at the wave pool at American Dream Mall in sunny New Jersey. This is one of my better waves of the day where I’m trying to work on smooth take off, surfing a bit more vertically and extending/compressing. I am kind of struggling to just figure out what it’s best to work on with this wave…it’s over quick! I’d love any feedback on basic fundamentals and what I could focus on to improve next session. Thank you in advance for any input!
